We Held a "Meet & Greet" for County
Candidates
for County Clerk, Treasurer, a New
County Court Judge, and District Attorney.
We had a lively evening getting to know the
candidates and had a great turn out of members!
Future meetings will give us a chance to
meet candidates
for elections of State and Congressional races.

Before we began meeting
right in Van Zandt County, some of us attended the
TAX Day Tea Party in Henderson County at the Athens Courthouse...
Our first big Van Zandt
County outing was the 9/12 Courthouse event On September 12, 2009.
A group went to Washington to protest the loss of our freedoms, but most of us
came
out in the rain just to be together and remember what we lost on 9/11/2001 and
the feeling of community we felt as we mourned together as Americans on 9/12.
A little rain could not dampen our enthusiasm and we were
thrilled to hear
that over a million people marched at Washington!
Each of the Children wore a price tag reminder about the
cost they would
bear if the current fiscal crisis continues unchecked
